We will plant one and two gallon native shrubs and trees and construct willow weavings along Fourmile and Round Valley Creeks and the Little Salmon River north of New Meadows during April, May and June 2008.

  • April 19 & 26, 2008
  • May 3, 10, 17 & 31, 2008
  • June 7, 14 & 21, 2008

 Logistics: Tools, transportation provided.

Summer 2008:

We will water shrubs and trees planted on higher drier ground throughout July and August on several week-days which we will determine in the summer.

Fall 2008:

We will construct willow weavings to armor actively eroding banks during late September and October along the Little Salmon River and its tributaries.

"Acts of creation are ordinarily reserved for gods and poets, but humbler folk may circumvent this restriction if they know how. To plant a pine, for example, one need be neither god nor poet; one need only own a good shovel. By virtue of this curious loophole in the rules, any clodhopper may say: Let there be a tree--and there will be one."
