During July 2004 the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Borah High School and other volunteers partnered with the Boise National Forest in an effort to restore riparian cover and stabilize eroding stream banks at hardened livestock crossings no longer utilized along Bear Valley Creek by planting native shrubs, trees, grasses and forbs.
The Idaho Department of Fish and Game conducted photo GPS monitoring at the planting sites in September 2004, 2005 and will continue in 2006 and beyond along Bear Valley Creek, a tributary to the Middle Fork Salmon River.
